Discharged from the military, special forces war hero Chris Vaughn (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) returns to his hometown to enjoy a peaceful life. Much to his dismay, the town has changed for the worse. The mill, which was the town’s main industry, has closed leaving many out of work. The once peaceful, innocent town is now plagued with a crooked casino, adult sex shops, drugs, and a corrupt police force. After a run-in with the bad guys, Vaughn decides to take his hometown back with a vengance. Lots of action that only The Rock can dish out!

Payback
by admin on Apr.27, 2009, under Action
Porter (Mel Gibson) is a career criminal out for revenge after his partners in crime double-cross him in a heist, do serious bodily harm to him and steal his $70,000 cut of the loot. Not a good move! Porter is back, wants his money, and he’ll go through anyone to get it.
A great support cast including James Coburn, William Devane, and Kris Kristofferson. Lots of edge-of-your-seat action and funny, dead-pan humor. Example: After having his toes broken with a small sledge-hammer, Porter’s girlfriend asks “What happened to you?” A bloody, beat-up Porter responds, “I got hammered!” This is one my favorite Mel Gibson flicks and I highly recommend it.

by admin on Apr.18, 2009, under Action
When the DEA shut down its dummy corporation operation codenamed SWORDFISH in 1986, they had generated $400 million which they let sit around; fifteen years of compound interest has swelled it to $9.5 billion. A covert counter-terrorist unit called Black Cell, headed by the duplicitious and suave Gabriel Shear (John Travolta), wants the money to help finance their raise-the-stakes vengeance war against international terrorism, but it’s all locked away behind super-encryption. He brings in convicted hacker Stanley Jobson (Hugh Jackman), who only wants to see his daughter Holly again but can’t afford the legal fees, to slice into the government mainframes and get the money.
